A father and his son, and his daughter, were arrested after allegedly killing the man's wife and the children's mother during an exorcism ritual. It's alleged that the trio killed the 42-year-old mother believing she was possessed by demons. The shocking incident took place in Evaton in Sebokeng on Monday.

CASTING OUT DEMONS 

According to Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, the police were called to a murder scene by the father on Monday.  Upon arrival, a body of a woman was found mutilated in a pool of blood. "The suspects allege that the victim who was their mother and wife to their father was demon-possessed and they were performing an exorcism ritual on her which required them to cut some part of her body,' Nevhuhulwi said. Nevhuhulwi confirmed that the 61-year-old father, his son aged 26, and his daughter (24) were arrested and charged with murder. Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela has condemned the incident and urged the public to always seeks professional help such as psychological, spiritual, and social welfare services that are at their disposal within their communities. The trio is expected to appear before the local Magistrates Court soon on charges of murder. Police investigation continues.
