EFFs pre-election reshuffle

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have had a mini reshuffle of positions ahead of the May 29 elections. The party announced their decision this week.  


RESHUFFLE


The party has appointed, with immediate effect, Sixolise Gcilishe who is the national communications manager as its election spokesperson. by the party's elections task force [CETF], responsible for the highest decision-making in the party. "Fighter Sixolise Gcilishe is currently the head of communications in the president's office and will, with immediate effect, assume the role of spokesperson. All media liaison and communication matters that relate to elections will be led from her office," they share in a statement. The party's spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys remains in her position.



MOBILISING THE YOUTH


The party has also appointed it's ward 11 councillor in the Nkomazi Local Municipality Mafia Mane and their MP Naledi Chirwa as convenors and coordinators of the youth and students' mobilisation committee which will be responsible for the mobilisation of all young people and students to vote for the EFF. "The youth and student mobilisation committee are mandated to establish election campaign battalions [Mlungisi Madonsela Battalions] of a minimum of 1 000 students in each and every institution of higher learning with a student population of above 5 000 students," the party said in a statement.

 

OUTSIDE VOTING STATIONS


The Mlungisi Madonsela Battalions will be responsible mobilising and campaigning that voters in and outside university campuses to vote for the EFF. "The youth and students' mobilisation committee will be expected to hold and lead mobilisation programmes and activities in all institutions of higher learning and communities and will present comprehensive numerical reports to the weekly meetings of the EFF CETF meetings," the statement concluded.
