Dr Nandipha Magudumana's bail application has been halted following new crucial evidence that has emerged in the matter. She appeared at the Bloemfontein Magistrates' Court alongside her seven co-accused this morning.
ALL STYLED UP
Dr. Nandipha seems to be adjusting well to prison life, she looked dazzling with a bright red lipstick and laid edges on her braids.
She clearly is a collector of the Nike brand since she's been rocking it in different colours and style from the day of her arrest.
WE WERE READY
Dr Nandipha's defence advocate Frans Dlamini said they were ready, however the evidence that emerged needed to be investigated hence the request for a postponement.
"We were actually ready to proceed with the bail application, but after extensive consultation, it then emerged that there is material evidence which is very crucial in relation to accused number four's [Magudumana] matter, which is also crucial in the interests of justice that it must be procured in order for accused number four to be able to make a decisive decision in relation to this matter," said Dlamini.
Dlamini asked the court to roll the matter over to the 16th of May,which is the same day that Bester is appearing in court.
NO CHANGES
The other five accused in the matter ?" former G4S security supervisor Senohe Matsoara, suspended G4S guard Motenyane John Masukela, former G4S control room operators Tieho Frans Makhotsa and Nastassja Jansen as well as Integritron CCTV technician Teboho James Lipholo continued with their bail applications.
Meanwhile, The magistrate ordered that the identities of the witnesses giving testimony must not be revealed, and their statements cannot be broadcast live.
The media was however, granted permission to pre-record the testimonies and air them later. The accused face charges including assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice.
Bester escaped from the Mangaung Maximum Prison last May by faking his death in a fire. He was re-captured in Tanzania in April.
