Disgraced former Ukhozi FM radio presenter opens an assault case against anti-crime group

Sbu Buthelezi has opened a case against Isikebhe

Axed Ukhozi FM Radio presenter is not going down without a fight. Sbu Buthelezi was fired from the station after being accused of scamming people. All hell broke loose when Buthelezi, from Nquthu in the midlands of KwaZulu Natal (KZN), didn’t keep his promise of paying back R600 000 that he owes the Msibi family from the same village.

NOTORIOUS ANTI-CRIME GROUP

In June 2023 Isikebhe, the notorious anti-crime unit, caught Buthelezi hiding in his Nquthu home. They forcibly removed his house burglars and opened the door before arresting him. The former Indumiso show presenter has now taken steps against the notorious group after the incident. Buthelezi has apparently opened a case at the local Nquthu Police station against Isikebhe.

LEGAL ACTION

Sibangani Manyathi, who is the president of Isikebhe, confirmed the news that Buthelezi has decided to take legal action. Isikebhe finds themselves in this situation after they were approached by the Msibi family, who wanted Buthelezi to pay them back the money they had invested in his poultry business, Abombuso Investment Group. The Msibi’s are alleged to have paid an estimated R600 000 towards Abombuso Investment Group. "People want their money and they came to us seeking help because they were unable to reach him. We called him to appear before Isikebhe before the Easter weekend last year but he never came. We then asked him for another meeting in the Sigubudu area, in Nquthu, but he failed again to appear before us instead he sent his family to represent him. In June, Isikebhe then decided to hunt him down so that he could account and he confirmed to us that he was owing the Msibi family and promised to pay their money back by the end of July, which he never did," Manyathi said. He further confessed that Isikebhe did threaten to beat him up if he failed to pay back the money he owed to the Msibi family. "I was really surprised when I received a call from the Nquthu Police station informing me that when I have time I must make my way there. It is surprising because everything was done by the book. Sbu even asked us to take him to a local police station where he signed an affidavit to pay back the money in two months. I was the one who asked members of Isikebhe not to beat him up as they normally do," he said. Attempts to get a comment from Buthelezi proved fruitless as his phone rang unanswered.
