DJ Zinhle will be opening a new store at Thavhani Mall, in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. According to insiders who are privy to the situation, she's taken the decision to broaden her reach.
EXCITED ABOUT NEW STORE
The award-winning DJ is said to be elated about the store and that and the fact that she's going to be creating employment. "As things stand, she employs a sizeable number of people in her business, so she's happy that she's expanding to another province that is faced with high levels of employment. This is another milestone for her business," an insider revealed.
BACKLASH FOR STATEMENT
In an interview with 702's Relebogile Mabotja a few months ago, DJ Zinhle bemoaned how a lot of young people in the country were unemployable due to a lack of skills and bad attitude, a statement that angered many. She also said that it didn't sit well with her that it takes long for her to fill vacant posts at her stores. "It bugs me how long it takes for us to fill in positions at Era. Just to find the right person for our stores, it literally takes longer than it should in a country that has so much unemployment," she said during the interview. She consequently apologised for her sentiments and said: "I wasn't attacking the youth at all.". As a small business owner, I employ and train people, but this doesn't even start to solve the problems we face as South African youth. I could do more with support from the government." DJ Zinhle confirmed that the store will be opened next Saturday. "I'm happy that I get to contribute to the youth of this country by providing employment for them."
