DJ Tira makes an appearance on TV drama

DJ Tira, real name Mthokozisi Khathi will be landing on our TV screens. The legendary Afrotainment boss will make a cameo appearance as himself, on the e-TV show Smoke & Mirrors.

The story on the show is written around him and involves Dudu's shenanigans with Magolide. After stealing Mamiki's boyfriend, she has now also taken her business idea. And to rub salt into her wound, she decides to host a launch party for her production, with the DJ hired on the ones and Twos being the one and only DJ Tira.

 

SCRIPTED

 

He is no stranger to the world of acting as this is not the DJ's first acting stint. A few years ago, Tira made a cameo appearance on Muvhango playing himself. His role was just to give Vhutshilo Mukwevho the opportunity of a lifetime. He paid the young man a visit at MMC to chat about his future. This came after he got Vutshilo's mix tape, which impressed him big time. Smoke & Mirrors premiered on 17 April and is produced by The Final Chapter Production, which replaced Imbewu. The show introduced Thandiswa, a hairdresser by day, an escort by night, and a girl on a mission to rid the town of "The Unholy Trinity", the group of morally corrupt men who run Emnyameni, a mining town. The area is controlled by powerful men. A determined mother-of-one sets out on a journey to unearth the evil done by "The Unholy Trinity." Tebogo's version is a 13-part series set in a mining town. It tells the story of a royal family and their celebrity couple friends. Some of the cast members on Tebogo's version include Pastor Chichi, Keabetswe Mashugane, Lasizwe Dambuza, and Motshabi Tyelele to name a few. 

 

MAKING MOVIES

 

This year, DJ Tira also cameoed as himself in the Netflix film, UThandoLwethu, a South African film directed by award-winning director and producer Zuko Nodada. The movie was produced by The Final Chapter Production and was shot in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. UThandoLwethu is about two lovers who try to navigate their careers and romantic feelings and try to make it in the big city full of challenges. In the movie. In 2017, he bagged a role in the film, My Zulu Wedding
