The much-anticipated Crown Gospel Music Awards which are scheduled to take place at the FNB stadium, Gauteng, on 26 November, will kickstart the build-up projects on 26 September, with community workshops and a gospel music talent search in five areas.
OPENING DOORS
Co-founder and Executive producer of the awards, Zanele Mbokazi says," The Crowns build-up programmes will include music workshops that will empower aspiring Gospel artists in five different communities around Gauteng," she says. "We are bringing collecting agencies, personal branding specialists, entertainment lawyers, and music coaches. The talent search will also see the winners getting an opportunity to perform at the Crown Gospel Music awards stage on 26 November."
CHANGES
The Crown Gospel Music Awards were established in 2008 with the aim to celebrate the best in Gospel music in South Africa. After 15 years of successfully awarding Gospel artists for their contribution, the founders announced this year they have moved from its long-time vibrant, fan-filled home of Durban to Johannesburg in Gauteng. "A new dawn is upon us," Zanele says. "Not much will change. But we are growing and developing new relationships."
