GAUTENG: A serial rapist has been sentenced to three life terms by the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court for the rapes of three minor children and one adult woman. It was revealed in court that the convicted rapist Andries Fenyane (43) entered the home where a four-year-old minor was staying with her grandmother. When the grandmother stepped outside to fetch water, he sneaked in through a different entrance, kidnapped the child and raped her and left her her naked not far from her home. In another incident on 15 November 2017, Fenyane approached a house where two 13-year-old girls were sleeping. He lied between them and threatened them with a knife when started screaming and went on to rape them. In the third rape, on 26 December 2017, Fenyanye broke into the home of a 33-year-old woman who was with her four-year-old son. He raped the woman in the presence of her son after demanding that she fry eggs for him, which he took with him in a lunch box after the ordeal.
He was arrested on 23 April 2018 when DNA evidence linked him to the crimes. He pleaded guilty and said he committed the rapes due to having been previously arrested after he was falsely accused of rape. It was also revealed in court that one of the victims was infected with HIV during the rape.
