Tributes have started pouring in after the news of the death of celebrated political analyst, broadcaster, and author Eusebius McKaiser (44) was announced by his manager, Jackie Strydom, today.

EPILEPTIC SEIZURES 

Strydom said Eusebius died after suffering a suspected epileptic seizure. His partner Nduduzo Nyanda went to the mortuary with his family to identify his body, Strydom was quoted as saying on TimesLIVE. Eusebius, has contributed to local and overseas media like the New York Times, BBC Focus on Africa, Interface on SABC 3, Business Day, Mail & Guardian, Sunday Times, Sunday Independent, City Press, Newsweek International, The New Republic, Financial Mail, and Destiny Man among some.

CONDOLENCES POUR IN

Respected communicator, Makhosini Mgitywa, formerly Nkosi, wrote on his Facebook: "Terrible news… almost unbelievable. Rest in peace Eusebius Mckaiser." The Democratic Alliance also wrote on Twitter: "The DA extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of political analyst and broadcaster, Eusebius McKaiser. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time."Eusebius will be remembered for his robust political commentary." ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba also wrote a tribute to Eusebius: " Such a bright young man taken so soon. He recently attended one of my breakfast sessions & as usual, the debates were robust & intellectually stimulating. He was someone I knew would play a vital role in fixing this country. May he rest in peace," His former employer, Talk Radio 702 wrote on Twitter: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of renowned journalist and former 702 presenter Eusebius McKaiser. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.May his soul rest in peace." GCIS boss, Phumla Williams wrote: "Yho deepest condolences to his family and friends. A great loss to the media fraternity."

JUST YESTERDAY HE WAS HAPPY 

Eusebius posted his picture and that of his friend and colleague, Andrew Harding, having lunch in Sandton yesterday. He said in his Facebook post: "What a lovely lunch catch-up session with one of my favourite journalists, Andrew Harding. Thanks for lunch, Andrew. And great conversation. Friends, in the unlikely event you’re unfamiliar with the broadcast excellence of BBC Africa correspondent Andrew Harding, do check out his work online. Andrew is an amazingly gifted writer also. You MUST read his books, The Mayor of Mogadishu & These are not Gentle People. Both are worth your time and money.
