The South African Weather Service has predicted the possibility of widespread snowfall this coming weekend. People are warned to brace themselves for the cold weather and to keep warm.
SNOW THIS WEEKEND
Weather forecaster Puseletso Mofokeng said Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces are most likely to be the most affected by the snow. "We can expect partly cloudy conditions. Cool conditions during daytime will persist, but I must point out that it will be cold over the Cape provinces and there will also be rainfall that is expected along the south coast of the Eastern Cape."
SNOW FELL ALMOST A YEAR AGO
In June 2023, snow fell in Johannesburg for the first time in more than a decade which came with a lot of excitement because it is rare in the city. Again, in October 2023, while South Africans waited in anticipation for the start of the Rugby World Cup final between the Springboks and the New Zealand's All Blacks, snow started falling on the border between South Africa and Lesotho.
