Troubled producer and singer Bongani Fassie, the son of late veteran artist Brenda Fassie, has been hospitalised after getting into a drunken brawl. Bongani got into an altercation at a nightclub last night and has been admitted to a hospital in Johannesburg north.

A FIST FIGHT

The source, a friend, said that Bongani went on a partying spree and got into a horrible fight at a club where he was assaulted. "It was bad - he had to be admitted because he lost a lot of blood." The source said Bongani got hurt on an already existing scar that he got last year when he was stabbed in the arm by an unknown man at a traffic light in Randburg, Johannesburg. The source said that Bongani got into a fight with an unknown man. "We don't know how it started, but we saw an exchange of words and then fists flying. Bongani can't fight so he was beaten up.' The friend added that Bongani will be discharged this afternoon. Bongani could not be reached for comment.

HE BLEW IT

A few weeks ago, ZiMoja reported that Bongani had started living like a "rockstar' and blew R400 000 in two months. According to the source, Bongani took both his kids, Brenda and Bongani, away from his on-and-off partner, Buhle last year and they have not been attending school since then.

After blowing R400 000, he was allegedly locked out of his rented apartment in Fourways, Johannesburg, for failing to pay his R17 500 rent. "He was squatting with his two kids at his friends' houses until he made frantic phone calls to Sello "Chicco" Twala," the source told ZiMoja. A friend revealed to ZiMoja that he has been partying "non-stop' since he received the R400K. "He blew it and took out loans because he knew he would receive more money,' The source said.
