Living like a rock star!

Bongani Fassie is said to have blown over R400K in two months

Music producer and reality TV star Bongani Fassie's two children have allegedly not been attending school since last year. A source close to Bongani said he has been living like a rockstar.

KIDS NOT GOING TO SCHOOL

According to the source, Bongani took both his kids, Brenda and Bongani, away from his on-and-off partner Buhle last year. "The kids have been sitting at home and not going to school since then and he doesn't seem to care. He keeps saying he is Brenda Fassie's son when we try to talk to him about taking his life seriously, especially for the sake of his children," the friend said. The source added that the reality TV star was even locked out of his rented apartment in Fourways, Johannesburg, after he failed to pay R17 500 rent. "He was squatting with his two kids at his friends' houses until he made frantic phone calls to Sello "Chicco" Twala," said the source, adding that the music mogul and the late Brenda Fassie's former producer came to his rescue and gave him R80 000 cash. "Since Buhle is back in his life after leaving her second baby daddy and former rugby player Sbu Nkosi, we hope she will take care of the kids and make sure they attend school next year," said the source.

A BIG SPENDER

According to the source, Chicco also organised an additional R100 000 from one of the royalty distribution companies that will be reimbursed when Bongani gets his late mother's royalties. The source said with Chicco having made sure he was financially okay last month, Bongani had received over R200K in royalty payments two months earlier but still failed to pay his rent. "In short, he received over R400 000, but he doesn't have money to pay school fees or consistently pay rent. He blew it all. He blew that money on alcohol and hosting parties. Bongani is 40 years old but he doesn't want to grow up. He is living like a rock star and it's affecting his children," said the source. The source also revealed that in recent weeks, he had a PR team that was cleaning his image on social media and getting him gigs. But he fired them after they got him a gig on the reality show Unfollowed and the Department of Education, where he performed. He allegedly didn't pay the two ladies who did his PR." When he appeared on I Blew It last year, Bongani spoke about how he spent over R4 million on drugs and R700 000 on rent. When called for a comment, Bongani insisted on knowing who Zimoja's source was. "I will not comment until you reveal your source," he said.
