Bogus doctor Matthew Lani?s lies have finally caught up with him after security guards at Helen Joseph Hospital apprehended him last night.
The Department of Health confirmed his apprehension stating that Lani was caught entering the main entrance of the facility disguised with a surgical mask, hooded jacket and a stethoscope around his neck.
"He had previously entered the same facility to curate misleading content under the pretence that he was a qualified doctor," said the department?s spokesperson Motalatale Modiba.
In a video supposedly shot by the security guards, Lani who is wearing a sponge Bob T shirt, is seen bleeding on his lower lip and it is said it?s because he tried to escape.
"Immediately after being apprehended Lani requested to go to the bathroom, only to attempt to escape by jumping through a bathroom window. When security realised he was making a run for it, they called for reinforcement and he was apprehended again."
Modiba said the police were immediately called and Lani has since been handed over to the police for an official arrest.
The video continued to show security trying to restrain Lani to a chair when one of them showed him a stethoscope, which he denied was his.
Lani had been masquerading as a doctor for years and recently trended after a video he made claiming he was the youngest doctor in existence.
He claimed he acquired his medical qualifications at Witwatersrand but the institution denied having any association with him.
