Not long ago, ZiMoja reported that actor, Khulu Skenjane also joined UMkhonto Wesizwe Party. Known for his roles in popular TV shows, Jerusalema, Binnelanders, and A Place Called Home, he follows the footsteps of rapper Zulu Boy and vocalist, Sjava. Since then, the

former ANC mayor of Alfred Duma municipality in Ladysmith has allegedly cut ties with the ruling party and joined the same party as well.

The former Yizo Yizo and Gomora actor is the most recent celebrity who is said to have joined the party and has been booked to host their picnic this weekend. A close acquaintance says,' Celebrities are hungry. They want to be paid, and if a party is booking you and paying you, why not be aligned with them.' The source says, "Actors and musicians in South Africa have been complaining for years about the ruling party and how one can be established but still die a pauper. So, I don't blame anyone who is joining a party that is looking out for their needs.' The friend adds that Ernest has not been working for a few years and has been relying on "small piece jobs, his wife and hustling. So, If the MK books him and recognises him for the more than 25 years of work, he has done, then why not?"

When called to enquire about his alleged membership, Ernest's wife and manager Nana Zondi said: "My husband and I would like to clarify rumours of him joining the MK Party. It's none of your business. Why don't you rather focus on why he has not been cast for any acting role for the past three years."
