She was shocked when she stumbled upon a social media post about her going to perform with her former group Malaika at a chisa nyama. But Tshedi Mholo, the former leading lady of the renowned Afro-pop group Malaika, knew nothing about the event. In the post shared by Kgosi Phele of Midcorner Chisanyama, it is stated that Mholo and her ex-bandmate Bongani Nchang were scheduled to perform at an event celebrating Women’s Month.

THREATENING TO INVOLVE EFF MEMBERS

Mholo, who is a committed member of the EFF, quickly denied any involvement in the event and warned the owner of potential repercussions from other EFF members. "If you want to see the other side of me..continue with this BS!!!! I don’t mind paying buses filled with amaFighter to just camp there! Not in my name! Nxa. DO NOT PUSH ME!" she wrote. An apologetic Phele, then replied saying was not aware that she was no longer part of the group. "My biggest apologies ausi. I was only sharing the fyler from excitement thinking it was you since I haven’t heard your wonderful voice on stage in such a long time. I did fix the error that I made and I hope you’ll forgive me for mentioning you. Honestly, it was immature to publish something I wasn’t aware of and I’m truly sorry. I wish to work with you going forward as an apology from me and my team," Phele said.

GRACIOUSLY ACCEPTING THE APOLOGY

Mholo accepted the apology expressing how grateful she is to Phele for apologising. "Apology accepted. Thank you to the owner for sending his heartfelt apology too. He sounds very humble and he had no clue of these shenanigans. Just tag Tshedi-Wanna- Be Please! Since I don’t know." Mholo, who was part of the group since 2003 but left amid her disagreement with fellow group member Bongani, is now pursuing her own ambitions including her businesses, is a. social activist and is dabbling in the gospel music space. The singer, who hails from Lichtenburg in North West, said she’ll no longer performs under the banner of Malaika. She expressed that her involvement in the band over a prolonged period was beginning to have a negative impact on her in various ways and that she had finally reached breaking point.
