Sizophila Mkhize, who was one of the leading candidates for the presidency of the ANC Youth League during the elective conference, has survived a horrific accident. Mkhize's car lost control when she tried to avoid a truck she says she could have collided with on Saturday.
In a short message shared on her social media pages, Mkhize wrote, "I survived a deadly accident on Saturday.I escaped death. Today, my brother couldn't escape death. I'm shattered! So long Mumbo,". Mkhize who hails from Nkandla in the north of KwaZulu Natal confirmed to ZiMoja that she was indeed involved in a car accident but said that she was grateful to be alive and that she was back at home. "I was involved in a car accident at Blood River towards Vryheid. The accident happened when I was avoiding a truck," she said. She added that she spent a few hours in hospital where she was treated and discharged. I'm grateful to be alive," she said. Her car was written off. Mkhize also said that she lost one of her brothers on Wednesday.
