"We just want to know if our son asked his killers for forgiveness before he died"-Family of Soweto muthi killing victim

Nqobile Ndlovu and her Ben 10 Mthunzi Zulu have been remanded in custody

The couple accused of murdering Nqobizitha Zulu and Tshiamo Rabanye appeared again before the Protea Magistrates Court today. Nqobile Ndlovu (50), and her 39-year-old  Ben 10, Mthunzi Zulu, were arrested following vigorous investigations after the discovery of the two mutilated bodies. The bodies were discovered two weeks ago in Rockville and White City, just 1,4k apart. Nqobizitha was doing grade R and Tshiamo was doing grade 1 at Isiseko Primary school at the time of their untimely death.

LEGAL REPRESANTATION

In her first appearance last week Friday, Ndlovu who is related to one of the victims, said she will be acquiring the services of her own lawyer. However, it seems she has had a change of mind because the state prosecutor, Khakhathiba Tholwana. asked the court for a postponement so that Ndlovu could get legal aid. Ndlovu already has a defence assigned to her, but they requested time to familiarise themselves with the case. The couple is facing charges of murder, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice. The two boys went missing last month and their mutilated bodies were found a day later a few kilometers apart.

FAMILY SPEAKS

Gcina Tshabalala, who is Nqobizitha's aunt, told ZiMoja that as a family, they have questions for Ndlovu. She said when the suspects were arrested, they were relieved but shocked that it was their neighbour. She said they still could not believe their neighbour was involved in such a heinous crime. "We want to know what Nqobizitha said to her when he was being killed. Did he ask for forgiveness, did he call out for his mother. We need those answers," she said. Nqobizitha's mother expressed anger and pain. She said she doesn't have much to say, just the questions for the accused. The matter has been postponed to the 18th of May for formal bail application.
