Tragedy has hit two families in Naledi, Soweto, after their sons allegedly consumed poisoned biscuits.Reports state that four boys went and bought biscuits from their local spaza shop on Sunday, ate them and then fell sick shortly after that, vomiting something pink allegedly.
TWO BOYS HOSPITALISED
Two of the four boys aged, six and four, sadly passed on and the other two are fighting for their lives in hospital and are in a critical condition.
it is alleged that after learning about the incident, community members forced all foreign owned local spaza shops to close and stop all operations until a postmortem determines the cause of death.
MONITORING THE AREA
SAPS spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said the cause of death has not been determined.
"Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the cause of wHich is unknown at this stage, pending post-mortem results," she said.
She said the police are on standby monitoring residents in Naledi as they threatened to take action against foreign national spaza owners should they attempt to open their shops.
