It has been a long year for the actress and TV personality Minnie Dlamini, juggling between motherhood, work and running her company. The Honeymoon actress says this festive is going to be her relaxing time with her family. Minnie who hails from Durban in KwaZulu Natal says she might be hosting the family Christmas lunch this year at her home in Johannesburg. She also speaks about building her parents their dream home, spending the festive with her family, and bonding with her son.

BUILDING HER PARENTS THEIR DREAM HOME

Despite her challenges this year, Minnie has managed to build her parents their dream home. "I am building my parents a house so I can’t afford an expensive holiday- but am not moved by the December hype," she adds. The former live presenter tells ZiMoja that she might take a vacation early next year." Also in December, it is hard to travel with a small child because almost everyone is going away, and airports and roads are jam-packed- I think it is much safer and stress-free to travel either earlier or after the festive fever," she said. Minnie says she might have to fly her family from Durban down. "Besides construction is still underway in Durban - they might have to come this side," she adds. Also, Minnie says there is a lot she will be doing next year both TV and via her production company. Minnie who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Film for her role in The Honeymoon says there will be more acting from her. "She says despite the challenging year she still has a lot to be grateful for, from having supportive friends, her beautiful son, work, and family. Life does not come with a manual and no one is prepared for it- It is important to learn from your mistakes and also forgive yourself," she adds

DEALING WITH HATERS

Asked how she deals with negativity and haters who always trolling her on the internet, especially regarding her pending divorce and spousal maintenance. "Look, I am human not a robot- but I have grown a thick skin, being famous comes at a price, I just wish people could sometimes be more sensitive because we also have families that read all these horrible things that people write about us, also some people believe whatever they read on the internet," she added.
