Tshwane residents no longer want DA to government the capital city

As the political drama continues to grip Tshwane?s after the removal of Tshwane mayor, Cilliers Brink through a motion of no confidence earlier this week, residents said they do want the DA to govern anymore, because they don?t get service delivery. They said they wish for another political party to take over, so that their concerns can be addressed.

Services delivery issues raised

Aphiwe Booi, a resident in the capital city said he wanted a new party to govern the city, because they don?t get service delivery in the township in which he lives. "I don?t want the DA to govern anymore, because they don?t bring services to us in the townships where we struggle with basic services. I?m happy that he was removed, maybe a new mayor will deliver services. He added he wishes whoever is elected as mayor would address the service delivery backlogs.

THEY WANT ANOTHER PARTY TO TAKE OVER

Another resident Celia Magama said they have many issues that the DA has not addressed and therefore she is of the view that another political party should govern the city and maybe then things would improve. She said: "My wish is that we would get a mayor that takes us seriously and addresses the issues we have in outlr communities. Some people still don?t have access to basic services such as electricity, so we hope that the new mayor will deliver".

Wish for Unemployment woes to be resolved

One of the main pressing issues that some residents wish can be resolved speedily is that of unemployment. "We have a huge problem of unemployment, this is an issue that the DA hasn?t resolved. Many of our people remain unemployment and this is the reality of most of us who reside in townships. So, no I don?t want the DA to govern again. They must give other parties a chance and maybe then things will improve for people in the township," he said. "I?m that he was removed, because there?s no been much change in our lives, especially in the townships".
