It is the final curtain call for telenovela The River as producers of the show wrap season six. According to an insider, the decision to end the show came from the production company who believed they had a good run and it was time to end the show with a bang. "The show has had many changes and added many new characters. They don't want the show to lose what it had. They want o leave on a high and not like other shows that end on a sour note or lose viewership and be forced to end,' the insider says. "I completely agree with this. Yes, people will miss the show, but bigger, better productions for Tshedza are on the way.' 

DRAWING TO AN END?

Phathu Makwarela, The Executive Producer at TshedzaPictures says when they created The River seven years ago, they wanted to tella story that will have a definite ending. "Now on its sixth season, we feel thetime is right to bring the story of these beloved characters to an end, on ourterms and when the viewers still treasure the show,' he says. " As the sayinggoes, a good dancer always knows when to leave the stage,' and it's that time for The River is season six.'
