There seems to be more to the much-publicised return of Connie Ferguson on Generations: The Legacy, with Rapulana Seiphemo. It said that Connie is back on the SABC 1 soapie as she has suffered finance loss. Connie made her name in Generations almost two decades ago as Karabo Mogale, who played Tau Mogale's wife. This is where her talent was discovered by the soapie's creator and Executive Producer, Mfundi Vundla.
HER RETURN DOES NOT SEEM LIKE A CAMEO
A source close to Connie says her return to the popular SABC 1 soapie is not by sheer accident, as things are not okay financially. After her husband Shona Ferguson died in 2021, their company that they co-owned, Ferguson Films, allegedly started to suffer financially. Their prime time soapie, The Queen, where the couple also acted was canned by Mzansi Magic. According to another source she tried taking the Queen to the SABC but was turned down. “The SABC turned down her offer because they felt it was not going to make sense,” According to the source, things are bad to a point that their website is down, and they had to close some of their offices. “Her husband was more of a people’s person he knew how to deal with people, many people don’t relate with her because she comes across as cold, but deep down she is a nice person,” adds the source
SARS SEEMS TO BE ON HER CASE
The source says their company owes SARS hundreds of thousands of Rands. She and Rapulana have been cast to be part of the soapie, and won't be appearing part time. Rapulana also acted on the canned telenova, The Queen on Mzansi Magic. The telenovela aired its last episode in January after seven successful seasons. The source also mentioned that The Queen has lost hundreds of thousands of Rand, which are unaccounted for. "The Hawks have called Ferguson's offices for a couple of documents for investigations. SARS also wants to be paid what is due to them," said the source.

At one point, the couple took a photo of their house in Ruimsig with supercars and superbikes parked outside. The source says Connie had to surrender some of the cars and bikes to the banks that were financing them after the death of her husband, Shona. The source says things are so bad that the Fergusons website has been down for a while after they failed to maintain it. Meanwhile, SABC 1 is ecstatic about the return of the fan favorite couple. In a statement released in March: "Viewers can expect all the class, charm and poise that these two have brought to the roles of Tau and Karabo." When called for comment, her manager Lorato Pilane said Connie can only comment unless we reveal our sources. “Connie won't comment unless you tell her who gave you the story, but you can go ahead and send your questions," Pilane failed to respond to our questions by Thursday morning.
