TV personality and comedian Tol Ass Mo, real name Mongezi Mahlangu, has vowed to go after those who have tarnished his name and image after he was he cleared of rape charges he was facing. The star released a statement through his media representatives Specialised Security Services, warning those participating in the defamation, slander and hate speech against him would pay the price.
PAYING THE PRICE
“As a media representatives of Mr Mahlangu, we warn those who are intentionally participating in defamation, hate speech and slander against Mr Mahlangu. We will take the necessary steps in criminal and civil cases against each individual. To avoid such actions, we insist that all defamatory comments posted be removed in the next 24 hours. Our client was fully acquitted of any wrongdoing in the court of law and therefore any further false and derogatory statements against Mr Mahlangu will not be tolerated,” the statement reads.
The statement further reads that their appointed attorneys have been mandated to continue with legal action against Lerato as she continues to defame Mahlangu.
“Any unsavoury conduct to procedures and laws involving authorities is being investigated and legal action, criminal and civil charges will be instituted. A claim against the NPA or SAPS will be lodged where lawyers will address the loss of income, loss of employment and contracts and recovery of legal fees spent during the two-years of this trial,” the statement further reads.
NO COMMENT IS COMMENT ENOUGH
At the centre of the rape allegations was model Lerato Moloi , who when was contacted for comment, couldn't confirm or deny that Tol Ass Mo’s lawyers had instructed her to remove comments or remarks made against their client on the matter.
“Your professional courtesy by reaching out is really appreciated. I do not have any comment at this point in time. Thank you hle!”she said.
Poet Ntsiki Mazwai, was one of the people who were vocal on this matter as they claimed that they believed Moloi.
When Mazwai was contacted for comment she said, “ Hhayi angiyingeni lendaba mina, andizi! (I’m not getting involved in this matter).
