Thugs steal truckloads of cooking oil

Truckloads of oil were stolen and anyone with lucrative information will be rewarded with R100 000

Times are really tough and thugs are not after money but going for cooking oil.  A warehouse in Kempton Park was broken into on Wednesday morning and the only thing that was stolen was cooking oil. Fortunately, one truck was recovered. Despite the soaring price of cooking oil, the public is warned to not purchase it from criminals.

LOADING INTO STOLEN TRUCKS

The Willowtown group confirmed to Zimoja that their warehouse was broken into.
"The robbers held up the staff at the facility and proceeded to load three trucks, which is understood to be stolen trucks, with substantial quantities of 2 litre Sunfoil Sunflower Cooking Oil." They said after opening a case with the police, a notice was shared by their group on social media platforms offering a reward of R100 000 for any information that would lead to the successful apprehension of the perpetrators and recovery of the stolen goods. "The police and our security partners in Gauteng are working tirelessly throughout day and night. Following information received, we can confirm that one of the three truck loads was recovered in Vanderbijlpark last night, and a number of suspects were arrested," said the group.

INVESTIGATION ONGOING

Members of the public are requested not to purchase any of the stolen stock. The batch codes of the stolen items are known to the police and security partners who are currently trying to locate the stock.The group said, "While the investigation is at a very sensitive stage, we are unable to comment further. Any further developments will be communicated in due course."
