She was recently reported to have been having an affair with married 5 FM presenter “Smash Afrika” Mdutyulwa. Singer and songwriter who often appears timid, and shy was reported to have been the cause for the separation between Smash Afrika and Kefiloe Mdutyulwa the daughter of actress Rami Chuene. The reports stated that Kefiloe found an image of Smash Afrika and Msaki kissing, along with letters from the Fetch Your Life singer professing her love for him. Msaki dismissed and joked about the reports. "Ni safety guys? Nothing has changed here. I have nothing but love for you and I will always be focused on my attempts to write songs to encourage and uplift. I know many of you see my heart. My devotion is to sing us better. That’s my purpose here.”?
WHY SHE IS LEAVING SOCIAL MEDIA?
Msaki has taken tosocial media to announce that she will be stepping back from social media and her team will be the ones posting. “I don’t wanna be known or be in front of people. That’s a by-product of my devotion to my passion. It shouldn’t make me a victim of a violation of privacy or a complete twisting of the truth. But I get it; we are all victims here. It’s ok,” she says. “Especially if our sources of truth are the places with the least integrity. I hold words in such high regard because I believe in their ability to heal, edify, and encourage. Places that use words to intentionally break, lie, distort, sensationalise offend my very essence.”
Msaki says she cannot always be defending herself. “I cannot match their frequency by ever answering or defending their distortions. What breaks my heart is how much power we give these spaces, and that is on us. We are sick. People have built careers on negativity and the irony is I feel their pain too coz of this supple heart.”?
FOCUSING ON MUSIC?
The mom and wife says she has decided to remove herself from social media and focus on healing people through music. “This space is not for me. I’m not a celebrity, something too unduly pedestaled or pardoned when I’m wrong, or pulled apart when the internet trolls are bored,” she says. “I’m a devotee. I cannot be turned into a spectacle just because my focus has become boring to some. Ndavuma ukufa (I agreed to death) when I decided to be a vessel. I am a devotee caught up in adoration and a love of art. What is inside me cannot be made or destroyed. It’s part of an old song that will never die,” she adds. “I thought this message would be on my birthday the 31st of December. But it’s just pouring out of me today. Be kind to the trolls, they are hurting deep. The Notas, the Chris nton nton’s, the Musa’s, etc.”?
ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO LEAVE TOXIC ENVIRONMENTS?
The Eastern Cape vocalist says that people should remove themselves from toxic spaces. “Disempower these toxic spaces making us sub-human and so desensitised to each other’s complexities and truths for entertainment,” she says. “Ningavumi (Don’t agree to it), I implore you. Make them null and void. We need compassion and care and patience for each other. Things are getting worse. I know we can do it. I believe in you guys. As for me, I’ll see you in real life and on the other side. My songs will always find you, so I’m not completely gone. My team will share. Let me try to be someone who is living out there. Let me go fetch my real life.”
