He made headlines this week after a video of him leaving a liquor store went viral on social media. In March, he was labelled ill-disciplined after he and a fellow footballer arrived drunk for training. Andile Ernest Jali and Mamelodi Sundowns have since ended their relationship after five years.

SIDELINED FOR BEING INTOXICATED

The middle fielder was hoping his contract would not be terminated after Makaab of Prosport International said they were still in the process of finalising a mutual termination. Andile and co-accused Sipho Mbule were reported to have arrived at training at Chloorkop under the influence of alcohol. The two allegedly forced the Sundowns management to sideline the players.

TERMINATED! 

In a statement sent to ZiMoja, Malemelodi Sundowns’ bosses say, The contract between them and Andile which was due to conclude at the end of the current season, has been terminated by mutual consent. "The former Bafana Bafana international joined Sundowns in June 2018 ahead of the 2018/19 seasons and has been at Chloorkop for five (5) campaigns. During his stay at Sundowns, the midfielder played 142 matches and has been crowned a champion five (5) times, making him one of the most decorated players in the PSL," the statement reads. "The influential player was part of two domestic treble-winning Sundowns teams and achieved the same feat before he joined the Club." The team thanks him for his hard work and dedication. "We thank Andile for his contribution and wish him well for the future. The Ccub and its supporters will fondly remember his performances for Ka Bo Yellow."

NOT THE FIRST DRINKING INCIDENT

This is not the first time, Andile is embroiled in a drinking scandal. After returning from Belgium in 2018, he allegedly developed a drinking problem and he failed three pre-training breathalyser tests at Mamelodi Sundowns, which resulted in him having an argument with the club’s coach, Pitso Mosimane. The SA Football Players Union (SAFPU) intervened to help him stay sober. 

DRAMA FOLLOWS HIM

Andile has made headlines for his love for the nightlife and his colourful love life. He recently dated Real Housewives Of Johannesburg former star Brinnette Seopela before she got married to a business mogul. Before that, he was married to the mother of his children and fitness guru Nonhle Ndala. Their marriage has been in the spotlight for many years and all thanks to the Nonhle’s social media rants. In 2015, Andile was allegedly ready to settle down but Nonhle was not ready after a previous abusive relationship where she was belittled by her ex-husband. Not long after that, Nonhle went on a live Instagram broadcast and claimed that Andile’s Mamelodi Sundowns’ salary was not enough for their lifestyle. "I’m supposed to be wearing long Peruvian inches (wigs) to show that my man can afford them, but here I am in braids. There’s no money at Sundowns. Even when they win a cup, you can’t even see where that money is because it goes towards the school fees of Junior, Cupcake and Amahle (Andile’s other children)," she said before stating that Andile needed another man, a helper, to assist in maintaining her lifestyle. In 2018, Andile was in hot water after allegedly assaulting Nonhle. She opened a case and he laid a counter charge of assault against her and was later granted bail.
