As always, Ngizwe Mchunu doesn’t back down when it comes to being involved in spicy situations, and this year was no different as he did cringe-worthy things that set tongues wagging. His foot-in-mouth comments often get him in hot water.
AIRPORT DRAMA CAUSES A STIR
0In August this year, he and a group of people were traveling from the King Shaka International Airport to Cape Town when they started chanting songs onboard a Flysair aircraft. This led to an exchange between him and a flight attendant. When he was reprimanded for his conduct, he said he was paying homage to King Shaka after King Shaka International Airport was named. He was subsequently added to the No-Fly list by the company, which means he can’t fly with the airline.
NGIZWE SLAPS MAN
According to a report earlier this year, Ngizwe Mchunu was attacked before a press briefing in Durban by three men, he subsequently opened a case against them. The former Ukhozi FM presenter retaliated against one of the men, slapping him before fleeing to safety when the rest of the men charged at him. He opened a case of assault against the men whom he suspected to be from the EFF.
MANIFESTO LAUNCH DRAMA
In what was labeled as tribal comments regarding the EFF, Ngizwe ended up losing his ambassadorship deal with JAC Motors. This after a video went viral, in which he said to EFF leader Julius Malema that Kwazulu- Natal belonged to only Zulu-speaking people. "Why don’t you host your party’s manifesto in the backyard in Seshego? So that your ancestors can support you," he is heard saying in the video. He went further with his tirade against Malema, saying he was a leader who couldn’t speak Isizulu. "You are a leader who can’t speak IsiZulu; the only language you know is English. You address our Zulu people in English; what kind of leader are you?? he said.
