IT seems as if the court battle between Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and the newly formed Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MK) is far from over.
MORE COURT BATTLE
This comes after the IEC informed MK that they were taking them to court over it proposed parliamentary list. The IEC want to force MK to remove the names of former MKYL Interim Leader Bonginkosi Khanyile and it?s prominent leader and former President Jacob Zuma ally Visvan Reddy. MK spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela confirmed the allegations that the IEC was taking them to court over Khanyile and Reddy. "Yes it is true, the IEC is taking us to court over the proposed parliamentary list. This is another attempt from their handlers to distract us from focusing on the upcoming elections. They keep exposing themselves that they are not neutral but they have their own handlers who giving them instructions to take us to court. We don?t really understand as to why they have decided on taking this route but people are no fools. They keep exposing themselves as being a biased organisation that is used to fight the MK," he said.
ANSWERING AFFIDAVITS
Ndhlela further said that it was the D day for the MK as it is the last for the organisation to file their answering affidavits. "It?s our last day today. We have to file our answering affidavits. We are not fazed by what is happening. We are ready for such and we know that they will everything in their to try and stop the moving train of the MK party. They have consulted with our lawyers so yes it seems as if we are heading to court again," he said. IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela (waiting on her comment).
