COURT

Last week, the veteran actor allegedly shot and killed his lover in his Kempton Park cottage and then attempted to take his own life. According to reports, this unexpected crime is not the first of the actor's alleged violent ways. A close friend of the actor told that he had "strange views on life."

"I am angrier than confused that I could ever be friends with someone who is a pathological liar and now a suspected murderer. I want to distance myself from him as a friend."The actor is reported to have a criminal history, including being convicted of fraud. He and his husband were one the first gay couples in South Africa to get married behind bars and were once caught having sex while imprisoned in the same cell.

FRAUD AND VISAs

The actor was arrested for fraud in 2013 with his husband after being accused of scamming several members of the LGBTQ community between 2008 and 2009, according to the Sunday Times. The actor's husband, who is said to be an Australian citizen, spent time at Lindela's Repatriation Centre for overstaying his visa. The Department of Home Affairs initially denied the couple the right to get married as his lover was still an illegal immigrant. The matter was taken to the Johannesburg High Court, which ruled in their favour and they married in prison in 2014. The actor has been employed and working as an actor, despite his criminal history.
