His family has barely had time to mourn the death of Gqom artist Mandla "Mampintsha' Maphumulo (40) who passed on the eve of Christmas yet there are already scandals resurfacing. The Ngeke singer passed away after he suffered a mild stroke and was hospitalised at Durdoc Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal.

In a statement by the Simelane and Maphumulo family, Mampintsha passed away after having suffered a second stroke while undergoing treatment in the hospital. "He succumbed peacefully in the early hours of Christmas eve. He leaves behind his beloved wife, son, parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews.' The families say they are grateful for the time they spent with him. "The Maphumulo and Simelane families are eternally grateful for the gift of his life. We urge all those who loved him to celebrate this most remarkable man,' the statement reads.?

WOMAN CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN DATING MAMPINTSHA

A woman by the name of Thato Baloyi has come forward to claim that she was in a relationship with Mampintsha. Thato has taken to social media to mourn her alleged boyfriend, Mampintsha. In a series of posts on Instagram she wrote, "Rest in peace boyfriend' and "You left me' and in another, she posted a Video of Mampintsha saying, "Baby No, God why?'

After attempting to call the Maphumulo family for comment, they requested privacy to mourn their son. "I don't know what to say. I don't want to entertain this,' says an uncle.
