He was responsible for managing bookings, checking flights ad making sure Somizi Mhlongo's fabulous life as a TV, radio presenter, host and choreographer runs smoothly. Siphesihle M Khumalo worked as Somizi's personal assistant for some years and he trusted him with inside secrets and his personal life. But the owner of consulting agency has since left Somgaga and is working as the manager of Fusion in Melville Johannesburg, a bar and restaurant owned by Somizi's ex-husband Mohale Motaung.

GREENER PASTURES

Siphesihle joined the team not long ago after leaving his job as Somizi's PA. According to a friend close to Mohale, Siphesihle left when he saw there was no growth. "Sphe initially worked for Mohale who suggested that he also helps out Somizi. That is how the working relationship started,' the friend says. "When they separated, Sphe continued to work for Somizi but he kept a good relationship with Mohale," he says. A few years later, Siphesihe is said to not have been happy with the salary he was receiving as Somizi's PA and sought greener pastures. "He went back to the devil he knows,' says the friend."Somizi may see it as back-stabbing but he met Sphe through Mohale anyway.'

WORKING?

A staff member at Fusion tells ZiMoja that when Siphesihle joined them, they knew he had previously worked with Mohale. "We heard he worked for Somizi and Mohale. We don't really care too much about celebrities and things, we just have to get the job done,' the staff member says. "But we all know that they are close.' Another disgruntled staff member says Sphe doesn't have much experience in the hospitality industry. "It's about who you know. Singena kuphi?,' he says. Siphesihle was not available for comment.
