The son of celebrated actress Sonia Mbele was recently accused by his girlfriend of rape and assault. Reokeditswe Makete made claims on social media that she caught Donell Mbele cheating and he became violent and took over her social media. Sonia later responded to the public outcry in a statement, saying she knows what it is like to be abused. "I woke up this morning to a different world, a world I thought I had long buried. From the age of 17 to 26, I was with a man who was abusive, physically, psychologically, and emotionally.' Sonia went on to say that Donell needs to take accountability for his actions. "I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy, and internal healing will prevail,' Sonia said.?

DONNELLAPPEARS IN COURT?

Donell recently appeared in court for charges of physical assault to his now ex-girlfriend, Reokeditswe. Accompanied by his legal team, a fearful Donell looked drained in front of the magistrate who postponed the case to February 2023. Meanwhile, pictures of Donell with injuries on his lips and face have since come to the fore with claims that Reokeditswe attacked him first amidst a fit of rage in one of their many fights during their "toxic relationship.' A close friend to friend to Reokeditswe who came forward under conditions of remaining anonymous says Donell and Reokeditswe's relationship has been doomed from the get-go. According to the friend, Reokeditswe suffers from severe depression and has a short temper. "We all used to hang at Monte Casino. She does not like it when other girls talk to Donell. She once spat on his face for hugging another hun' says the friend. The friend who also leaked Donell's pictures with bruises says he was on the phone with Donell when they were fighting in the Uber after because she insisted on checking his phone. "He sent a text to say she is starting again. I tried to call but that is when she was swearing at me accusing us of dating, they had no clue I was still listening because Donell did not hang up. I remember him begging her not to touch his face until she bit him on the lip,' the friend adds. The friend also adds that in a gossip group the two were saved as 'Blueface and Chrisean' became she used to fight like the two celebrities, especially after drinks. "We begged them so many times to leave each other alone, especially after she once called her family and friends claiming that she had been kidnapped, meanwhile she took an Uber to go see him. Donell thought it was just drama. She is a nice girl, but we all know and she knows the truth.'

REOKEDITSWE CHECKS IN AT A MENTAL WELLNESS FACILITY
Reokeditswe has since been checked in by her has since been checked in at a mental wellness centre by her family for depression and anxiety. A close family friend confirmed to ZiMoja that Reokeditswe is being well looked after by clinical psychologists. "A lot is happening in her life, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.' The friend says Reokeditswe told them that she recently found out things about her family that were affecting her mental health. "She is very snappy, especially when she can't get what she wants. Even her mother seems to be scared of her when she is on one of her episodes.'
When called for comment Sonia referred us to her legal team who refused to comment citing that the case is an ongoing court matter.
