Social media influencer and fitness fanatic, Sbahle Mpisane, has finally regained her memory after a life-changing accident on August 9, 2018. The 31-year-old Sbahle, the daughter of Durban businessman Sbu Mpisane and Shaun. ?MaMkhize? Mkhize step daughter spoke about her struggles after the late night freak car accident in Durban in a TV interview.
TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE THREE TIMES
During the interview, she also said she was putting her life back together, when she spoke about her journey of self-discovery. Sbahle, who boasts more than 3 million followers on social media revealed a jaw-dropping information on Newzroom Africa when she told the viewers that she tried to commit suicide three times after her car accident.
Sbahle, who had difficulty recall people and events a few months after being discharged from hospital, said she tried to commit suicide in hospital.
A source said while she was admitted to hospital, Sbahle was stressed that she may not heal completely. A depressed Sbahle tried to commit suicide in hospital but failed.
MAMLHIZE WAS ALWAYS SUPPORTIVE
During the TV interview, Sbahle spoke about the support she received during her dark days from her step-mother, the controversial businesswoman and reality TV star, Shauwn" MaMkhize" Mkhize. A source said Sbahle forgot to include her father Mpisane that he visited and spent hours and days with her during her stay in hospital.
Shauwn and Mpisane were the most powerful and rich couple in Durban, and they used to host the end of year parties in the late 2000s, which was attended by the who?s who of business, politics and celebrities of Mzansi.
The multimillionaire couple have been separated since January 2018. While Mpisane has remained at their La Lucia, north of Durban home, Shauwn lives in other properties in Joburg with her step-daughter Sbahle and son Andile, who is another high-flier, and owner of Premier Soccer League team Royal AM.
The couple share their multi-million La Lucia home, where they stay in seperate wings.
A close source who watched the TV interview was unimpressed with Sbahle?s interview. During the night Sbahle got involved in the accident while driving her BMW 4 series on Victoria Embankment, in Durban, her car became a wreck and she passed out.
During the interview, Sbahle said: "It has taken me six years fully to work on myself after the accident. It went to a point of trying to end my life to say... I?m gluing my glass back to where it is today.
"With me sharing my story (about attempted suicides), is not me looking for attention. I?ve always been known to motivate and inspire people. That?s how I?m known.
"No one even knew that I attempted suicide three times. The first one... they knew, but the last two, no one knew because I kept it to myself. I wasn?t proud that I failed.
"But after Ricky Rick (hip hop star) died, I was like how many of us are going through the same. We are all broken, that is why I call this "My Broken Glass Journey".
Money can?t buy you happiness, but yourself, said Sbahle.
Another insider said Sbahle spoke about mending relations with people close to her during the TV interview, yet she has not made peace with her biological mother.
"She speaks highly of MaMkhize yet says nothing about her biological mother who is confined to a wheelchair.
"Sbahle talks about mending relations, yet during her 19-minute interview, she didn?t say anything about Sbu. She avoided speaking about him, and she knows that their relationship is not rosy anymore. That interview was a total waste of time for the viewers," said the informant.
Mpisane said he watched the interview on Friday night, but refused to comment.
"Sbahle might have forgotten some events leading to the accident, but she knows deep down what her did for her after the accident, while she was in hospital and during her road to recovery.
"She also knows that both her biological parents are still alive. So it doesn?t matter that she didn?t mention any of them, but her step-mother," said the source.
Sbahle spoke about being permanently injured and said at one point she wanted to have a child.
"I know that will never happen," she said.
She also said grew up looking up to Shauwn, whom she with since she was still a baby.
But the source rubished those claims by saying: "Sbahle started to live with her grand parents in Lamontville, then later moved with Mpisane and MaMkhize when she was a teenager. She was in high school at the time."
