They did not only rob Ramphago of his brand new 2022 Toyota Hilux Double Cab Legend 50, which was only five months, but also ransacked his home and took all valuables such as laptops,Tablets, TV and phones. TRAUMATISED

The incident, according to Ramphago and the police happened on Friday just before 9pm, and the thugs, all carrying guns stormed into his home when he had just arrived, and pointed him with a gun and demanded that he hand over his car keys and all valuables in his possession.                                                                               "They first demanded that I give them my gun, and money and I don't have a gun or money, I'm sure they wanted things that they put in my house. They took everything from our phones, tablets, TV and our bedding and put them in my car and left," said Ramphago, stating that he was still shocked and traumatised by the incident.

This is the vehicle that was stolen and police have warned those who drive similar cars to be vigilant.
WELL ORGANISED SYNDICATE

Ramphago said the car which was hijacked was bought in April this year meaning that he had had it for five months. " I'm sure they thought I bought it cash, which is not the case because I bought it through the bank," he said. According to a police statement, the  powerful Limpopo football administrator said the things appeared to have been well organised as they knew where to find what, a clear indication that they might have been following him for quite sometime or using some detector equipment. "They knew where to go and find what they were looking for. Otherwise how else they did they know where to find the spare keys, because they took them as well," Ramphago said recounting his ordeal.

POINTING A GUN AT HIS HOUSE

The football administrator said the ordeal which lasted for more than 15 minutes has left his family traumatised, especially his son who had for the first time seen and was pointed with a firearm by the thugs.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    "All that is on his mind, is the gun that was pointed at him. He is going to live with that for the rest of his life. I mean is that what we want for our kids. Crime is serious problem in this country and next time we will die defending our own possessions," he said during one of the interviews. Ramphago said he would have to take his family for counselling for trauma because the incident was too much for them. The head of competitions in Limpopo, who also doubles up as a teacher, said the thugs appear to be working with some people locally, stating that they couldn't have known who owns which cars in the area where he was residing.

TARGETING LUXURIOUS CARS

Zimoja can also reveal that another local businessman in the area was also robbed and hijacked of a Toyota Gazoo Double Cab worth R900 000 by thugs at his home in Roerfontein, a village after Mamaila. The businessman told the police that the thugs, who were armed with pistols stormed his double storey home while he was watching a soccer match on TV and demanded the money, car keys and other valuable items. Both cars have not being found till today. The police in Limpopo also issued a warning to double cab bakkies owners, especially that they should be careful and aware of their surroundings, especially when driving at night stating that there was a syndicate operating in the Venda, Bungeni, and Magoro area targeting the luxurious machines.
