Controversial and flamboyant Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is back in South Africa again. But here is the twist... he is hosting a gala dinner for people on our shores at Pretoria Showgrounds, but Bushiri will be nowhere near our borders. He is hosting it as a virtual event and according to an invite circulating, the theme is formal and tickets go from anything from R1 000 for normal seating to R25 000 for a table for those with deep pockets. VIP will cost 5000 and VVIP will be R10 000.
AN EXPENSIVE CHURCH SERVICE
Zimoja has learnt that that different meals will on the menu that will be served accordingly. Zimoja has also learnt that the higher the ticket price, the more expensive food will be. A member who leaked the invite says preparations are on the way. "It is going to be one of the major event since he fled South Africa, we are looking forward to mingling with the senior members of the church," adds the source. According to the source, Bushiri and his wife Mary will open with the prayer before embarking on the word of God.
PAYING TO SEE BUSHIRI ON SCREEN
Another former church member who left church after Bushiri's scandal , says he is taking advantage of his many followers. The source who did t not want to be identified says it will take years for people to see through Bushiri. " He is just preying on desperate people who are hungry for a miracle. it will take years before people can see through this man, I know many people who are going to this event. How can you pay such amount to look at the screen, people think that miracles will pop via the big screens, am so disappointed, " adds the source.
VIP UPWARDS AVAILABLE
When Zimoja called the number on the flyer, a lady who picked up and refused to share her name. She confirmed that normal tickets were sold out but assured us that spaced was still available from VIP upwards. But she quickly changed her tune, when she realised that we are from Zimoja." I can't comment when it comes to further details, thank you for your time,' she said before dropping the phone.
FRAUD AND MONEY LAUNDERING
Bushiri fled the country to his home country of Malawi after he was arrested and charged with corruption, money laundering and kidnapping. He was out on bail at the time. The Bushiris were embroiled in multiple fraud-related cases here in South Africa amounting to millions of Rands. The couple also claimed that they were not safe in South Africa and believed that they would not get a fair trial in South Africa. Last year Bushiri said he would only come back to Mzansi if his safely is guaranteed. His spokesman was quoted saying that, "if South Africa meets the conditions for his safety, and guarantees they will take him to trial and not poison him like last time, then he will come."
