President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday promised the residents of Kimberley to restore their faith in the African National Congress. Ramaphosa said it was time to repair and rebuild the ANC through an integrated government from national to local level. He said he believes the ruling party will conquer in the 2024 elections as the Letsema campaigns are proving to be a success.
"The 2024 elections are a battle we are ready for. Letsema is part of the process for the preparation of the elections. We are reviving our branches in the provinces," he said.
LEADERS WITH ABILITY
He urged the residents to elect their leaders based on their abilities and not factionalism. "Elect leaders that you know are going to take this organisation forward and the revolution forward, not on a factional basis. You must elect leaders on the basis of their capacity and capability,'he said. He weighed in on the newly elected Eskom board claiming that they have a responsibility to ensure that loadshedding comes to an end. Ramaphosa said the board will receive all the support and resources it needs.
" We have confidence in that board and it will be up to them moving forward. However, we will continue to engage Eskom because our key focus is that power cuts must come to a complete stop."
CYRIL FOR A SECOND TERM
The ANC Northern Cape provincial chairperson Zamani Saul has called for Ramaphosa's second term in 2024. He told the residents that if they believe in the ANC like they claim they need to vote for Ramaphosa come 2024. "We are going to make sure that we implement the decision that uTata Cyril Ramaphosa will get a second term comrades," said Saul. Kimberley residents have been struggling with issues like potholes, sewage spills, water cuts, and dirty water for several years and they are hoping that with the President having foot there, better things are to come.
