It does not rain but pours for David Tlale. The fashion designer, who has graced international ramps was set to be on the fashion show lineup at the Features Awards but it is alleged that he has been dropped. The annual event is set to take place tonight at the Market Theatre in Newtown The glittering affair is dedicated to LGBTQIA+ activists who are doing impactful work in communities across the country.
INCLUSION BUT DAVID EXCLUDED
The theme for this year's awards celebration is Time To Be Unf**ken Apologetic About Inclusion. Zimoja has learnt that Tlale was supposed to host a fashion show to celebrate the best dressed category but due to the allegations made publicly by Sindile Zack Dudumashe, organisers and producers of the awards decided to change things. This week Dudumashe accused the renowned designer of sexually harassing him but he denied the damning allegations.
"The Feather Awards takes such things seriously. They want the law to take its course or for the matter has been resolved legally," says the source.
WANTING TO CLEAR HIS NAME
Another source says the founder Thami Kotlolo takes such allegations seriously as someone who was recently accused by Mohale of witnessing his abuse and not doing anything about it. It has emerged that David has consulted with his legal team and he is ready to fight tooth and nail to clear his name. When Zimoja contacted Kotlolo, someone else picked up his phone and said that he was busy. David's phone rang unanswered
