Ban them, kill them, shoot them. Get rid of them because theyare the problem. Not pit bulls, not animals!' These are the words of a woman who called for black people to be killed instead of Pitbulls. ?
HATE SPEECH
After the hysteria and mayhem caused by Belinda Magor, she has since been arrested for the racist rant. Magor's protest comes after the call for Pitbulls to be removed from society following recent deadly attacks by the breed. In a voice note that circulated widely via WhatsApp, 60-year-old Magor is heard saying "black people are worse than pit bulls.' She emphasised that she is passionate in her statement about having black people killed. "What I say is ban the black man. They rape, they steal, they kill, worse than any Pitbull could, and they get away with it. Ban those that are making the laws,' she says. "Ban Ekurhuleni, ban the black man. Get all the black women and cut out their uteruses and their ovaries so that they cannot procreate because they will all turn out the same because they are all the same.' Magor expressed her seriousness in the statements. "I'm very passionate about this. Ban them, kill them, shoot them. Get rid of them because they are the problem. Not Pitbulls, not animals. Animals are beautiful, and they deserve a warm bed, food, love, attention, and everything else. God created those animals. Who created the black man, do you think God? I don't think so.'?
POLICE INTERVENE?
This sparkedoutrage from South Africans who heard the voice note and calls for South African Police Services (SAPS) to intervene and arrest Magor. She was arrested on 25 November and police confirmed. SAPS spokeswoman Brigadier Brenda Muridilisays a case of crimen injuria has been opened. "A case of crimen injuria was opened at Boksburg North and transferred to Putfontein Police Station for investigation. The suspect aged 60 years old was arrested and released the same day on a warning to appear in court on March 27, 2023,' she says. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has commended SAPS for acting swiftly in arresting Magor.?
THE DEADLY PITBULL?
Although The National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA)has said that Pitbulls are not for the average home, people have continued to breed them and keep them in their homes. The latest pitbull attack was that of a 15-month toddler who was grabbed by the throat by the vicious man-eater. The incident happened on Wednesday 23 November in East London. Just last month, a 10-year-old boy from Gqeberha, named Storm Nuku, was mauled to death by his family's two pit bulls. This month two cases were reported of the same nature, where a boy aged 3 years old, was killed by two pit bulls whilst playing with his friends. Another boy, 8 years old, also from Bloemfontein was recently buried after he was mauled by a Pitbull. Some owners have heeded the call and handed over their dogs to SPCA.
