The granting of parole to Janusz Walus from Poland, who assassinated South African Communist Party (SACP) leader Chris Hani in 1993, has left his widow furious. Hani's angered widow Limpho Hani slammed the justice system and vowed in two years time karma will visit those that act like her husband's death was in vain. This was after ConCourt ordered Walu? release after 28years of his imprisonment.
ZONDO WOULD IN A SHACK HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR HANI
In the next coming ten days the man who was once sentenced to death but served a life sentence will be free.An angry Limpho said, "I've been in and out of courts and Walus has lost all the cases. Now he comes here and these ones in South Africa, they are Gods. Do you know about karma? Watch the space I give them two years. Talk to me after two years. This judgment is totally diabolical. I've never seen anything like this. While Zondo was delivering his judgment, indirectly, he said Walus did well by killing my husband. Now let me give you free information, had my husband not been killed, we wouldn't have had elections. Mandela, after my husband was murdered, said to De Klerk give us an election date and that's why Zondo and his friends are sitting in this court today and not under apartheid regime .Otherwise Zondo would be in a shack somewhere running his practice. Lindiwe Sisulu you are vindicated. Listen to black people when they tell you about justice in this country we're in sh*t."
BETRAYAL
Panyaza Lesufi who is the Chairperson of the African National Congress expressed disappointment and betrayal in the ConCourt ruling. "And they say every wound has a story. But this particular story is a particularly special story. Chris Hani is not an ordinary person. Hani delivered this freedom we enjoy." Lesufi said many of them feel betrayed and let down.
"We can't leave this unattended. And we call upon the SACP to convene and lead us on this matter. There's no one that will impose pain on us, and there's no one that will force us to forgive somebody. It must be out of our own making. And we can't also fold our arms and allow miscarriage of justice to happen," he said.
INSENSITIVE AND SELF CENTRED
The Economic Freedom Fighters has also rejected the ruling, claiming that this decision will invoke instability in the country.
" The decision to release Walus is callous, insensitive and is made by a self centered collective led by Raymond Zondo. They have spit on the grave of Hani and those that fought for freedom in this country. There has been no resolution between the Hani family and Walus. For years they've consistently opposed his release due to the trauma they suffered. The ConCourt has been reduced to an instrument that reinforces white supremacy." The EFF has called on the Hani family to for a rescission on the judgement in terms of rule 42(1)(a) of the uniform rule of Court.
