The police in Limpopo through Operation Vala Umgodi aimed at getting rid of illegal mining have recovered two loads of a tipper truck stockpiles in Sekhukhune District at illegal mining site.

It is reported that the team of the High-Density Joint Forces comprising members from various Units in SAPS and the South African National Defence Force during their tour of execution of the operation discovered thousands of rand worth of chrome abandoned at illegal mining site that makes two loads of a tipper truck. Limpopo SAPS Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said that in a separate incident, the police at Seshego in Capricorn District have arrested two male suspects aged between 25 and 56 years who were found while digging sand illegally and further confiscated mining equipment that include 2 x shovels and 1 x pick with and a white TATA tipper truck.
FOREIGN NATIONALS
"Six male foreign nationals aged between 15 and 49 years were arrested at separate locations in Vhembe District on Friday 23 February 2024 for contravention of immigration act," said Ledwaba.The Procincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the collaborative efforts by teams involved. "The suspects are expected to appear before various Magistrate?s Courts on Monday, 26 February 2024, facing charges of illegal mining and contravention of immigration act," he said.
