Ntando Lurwengu Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Eduvos Cape Town Campus, he is a motivational speaker, corporate MC, business professional, humanitarian who’s passion is to eradicate education inequality and creating access to resources for the disadvantaged and a wellness and fitness advocate fanatic.
HE IS ALL ABOUT EMPOWERMENT
His special focus is on E-Learning Expansion Initiatives, community education workshops, educational advocacy campaigns, and a scholarship and grant program. Ntando was born in Kwa-Dabeka in KwaZulu-Natal, where he was raised by his maternal grandmother, as his parents were pursuing their careers within the safety and security sector. Once their careers had gained some stability, Ntando said he and his older brother went to join their parents permanently in Cape Town where they had set up a home and base for them.
DIVERSITY IS IMPORTANT
His exposure to the diversity of South Africa in the form of the rural of his ancestral home in Matatiela, the townships of KwaZulu-Natal and the urban life of the Northern suburbs of Cape Town, birthed an understanding of the divide to access of basic resources such as education and health. This gave rise to his spirit of community and being a vessel of advocacy for inclusivity and accessibility to resources. "My parents were my example of what success parents and that was to go to apply yourself with precision in your schoolwork, have the best work ethic and do what is right. I was brought up to understand that there are real consequences to actions and goodwill is always rewarded. These value systems are displayed and actioned upon by my aunts and uncles. It is these codes of ethics that have shaped and informed me even in my professional environment with its politics," he said.
UP COMING MR UNIVERSE EVENT
Ntando also said he was excited for the opportunity to represent South Africa at Mr Universe 2024, taking place from 15-25 December in Los Angeles in America. "I am very goal-oriented person and this opportunity presented to me by Mr South Africa, ticks off on my vision board. This is an opportunity to highlight the positivity of our beautiful country and its diversity," he added.
