Former Enviromental Affairs minister and ANC deputy secretary-general Nomvula Mokonyane’s name is being dragged through the mud again. This time it involves her daughter Katleho Mokonyane’s relationship with an alleged conman. Katleho’s baby daddy and ex-fiance Bonelela Bhazza Mgudlwa is said to have turned out to be a scammer and blackmailing the politician. 

LYING ABOUT BEING FROM A ROYAL FAMILY 

According to sources close to the family, Mgudlwa claimed to have been from a royal family in the Eastern Cape. The source told ZiMoja that the former minister took the couple in. When Katleho got pregnant, Nomvula bought the couple a Range Rover not knowing that her son-in-law was recording and planning a devious game. "Nomvula accommodated the couple thinking she was helping them she is now regretting it," adds the source. The source add that Mgudlwa soon became Mama Action’s favourite and even pitched ideas to his well-connected Mokonyane. "Nomvula is not easily fooled but he managed to with the royal family story, "adds the source.

BLACKMAILING MOKONYANE   

It’s alleged that trouble started when the couple moved out of Mokonyane’s house after their child’s birth. According to the source, the couple started fighting and disagreeing over certain things. "His intentions were never good from day one. He knew exactly why he was there; there was no love," adds the source. The man allegedly threatened to expose the Mokonyane family secrets when Katleho wanted to leave the relationship. "Mgudla is now back in the picture blackmailing the mother and daughter, threatening to expose all the dealings Mokonyane was conducting at her house when he was staying with them," said the source.  

MOKONYANE DISSAPOINTED  

According to the source, although Mokonyane has nothing to hide, she is more disappointed at her daughter’s ex for stooping low when she thought highly of him. "He is aggressive and desperate in his approach, he can even sell a fake story to the media, that their only concern," adds the source. It is unclear whether Katleho and her mother have opened a criminal case against Mgudlwa yet.  

 KATLEHO SCANDAL 

 Katleho was implicated in a contract worth R2,7 million awarded to a company called Tuwo Rhodesia that was irregularities awarded by the Gauteng Department of Health for supply chain and asset management. When called for comment, Katleho asked ZiMoja to send questions but failed to respond to them even after being given time to do so. Mokonyane spokesperson Mlimandlela Ndamase said he was aware of Mgudlwa and his cheap’ tactics. "From my understanding, Katleho is flying from Durban, I will make sure that you get your comment," he said but he had not responded by the time of publication. Mgudla asked this reporter if he believed in God. "Are you a believer my brother, are you a Christian, if yes then please allow God to use you," he added.
