NEW GENESIS
Speaking to ZiMoja about her latest offering titled, New Genesis, Midnight Uzo says that her single is her new chapter. "It's the beginning of a new journey of my life. Things are changing in my life. I have been more involved in my education but now I have to shifted focus more to my music. With academia, it is more about research where I do other people's work while with my music, I will be referencing myself. New Genesis is all about me and nothing more," she said. Though she comes from a political and musical family, Midnight Uzo didn't want to dwell much on her mother's political career.
HER DEBUT SINGLE
Last year Midnight Uzo released her first single last year titled, One Night. "It was my first experience in music, and I don't even want to talk about it since I had my ups and downs. What is positive is that I learnt a lot and I worked with Oyama and Alexis Faku. I learnt a lot from them, and I am where I am today of them," she said.
HAPPY ENDING
Midnight Uzo said that she will be releasing a single titled, Happy Ending, where she worked with legendary Guitarist Ntokozo Zungu. "It's about being happy about yourself after a nasty break up. Working with Ntokozo was a learning experience. I learnt a lot from him since he has worked with legends like Hugh Masekela. He gave me a lot of confidence in the studio, and he treats me like his own daughter. What I liked about him is the guidance, he has taught me a lot when it comes to music."
