The date was set and the hall and the catering company were paid up leading to wedding but all that went up in smoke when the fianc? disappeared without a trace. Nomkhosi Mnguni from KwaMakhutha, South of Durban in KwaZulu Natal, was supposed to wed her long time sweetheart but all that joy of getting married turned sour when her fianc? Dumsani Makhoba disappeared on 26 July.

THE LAST TIME THEY SAW HIM
Makhoba, who paid lobola for his fianc?e in 2015 and finished paying it off this June, is said to have gone missing. Mnguni says the last time she saw Makhoba, "It was a chilly Sunday when he came with his friend and asked me to cook steamed bread and chicken stew for him. I asked him to buy the chicken so I could cook what he had asked me for. Only to find that would be the last time , I see him. His friend came the following day to look for him and I told him that my husband was not home. I think I am going to go crazy because I don't know where he is, whether he is alive or no more. His cellphones are off and the people who were the last one to see him said that he left and said he was coming straight home," said the sobbing Mnguni.
HARD PILLOW TO SWALLOW
Mnguni said that Makhoba the wedding date was set for September 11. "What is happening is hard pill to swallow. Imagine the people I had invited to come through to the wedding. We have been looking for him from public hospitals to prisons. Mortuaries are not letting me in to check if he is there. It's been two months now and they are giving me excuses. Now I don't really know what to do now as no one is willing to help us. Even the cops are not doing enough as the people who sold my fiance's car to the Indian man are still roaming the street," she said.
POLICE DON'T TRUST ANYONE AT THIS POINT
Makhoba's car was traced to man in Ballito, who claims he bought it from a car dealership. The dealership claims the car was sold to them by two boys from Jacobs . "All I want is my fianc? back so that we will fulfil our dream of getting married and be husband and wife. I'm even scared of sleeping alone in this house because I don't the reasons behind his disappearance. What I know is that we were happy and looking forward to our wedding day before his disappearance," a clearly emotional Mguni said. Investigative Officer, who refused to divulge his name but only gave Zimoja his surname as Govender said that she was on the verge of cracking Makhoba's case. "That is all that I'm willing to say. The information we have now is very sensitive and it will jeopardise the case if we tell you now. Come to our office and we will discuss this case face to face," she said before dropping the phone.
