Three men have been arrested and charged with the murder of a woman who went missing last week. The woman’s body was found buried in shallow grave in Luphisa, Mpumalanga.

WENT MISSING

Bonisiwe Mabuza (36) went missing on Tuesday June 25 and her car was found abandoned in the bushes on the same day she went missing. According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, Boniswa was reported missing after her family tried several times to contact her over the phone without any success. The family later discovered that she was not at her residential place, and they reported her missing at Kanyamazane Police Station the same day.

SUSPECTS NABBED

The police managed to arrest three males from KaNyamazane and Pienaar who were found in possession of Mabuza’s belongings including a laptop, clothes, curtain, deep freezer and tyres. The belongings were found in one of the suspect’s houses. "The suspect pointed out to a shallow grave in Luphisa where Boniswa was buried," Mdhluli said. He further said that the police took in two people for questioning, which led to a breakthrough as well as recovery of some of the items that police are convinced were stolen from the victim. "The two were then detained as suspects whilst the third suspect handed himself over to the police on Monday. The three are facing a charge of murder, kidnapping, house robbery and more charges could be added against them as the investigation continues," he said. The three suspects are expected to appear at Kanyamazane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
