Social media influencer, Mihlali Ndamase, has come out to take accountability for the toxicity she contributed to her relationship with businessman Leeroy Sidambe.

TOXICITY

Mihlali said her relationship with Leeroy was abusive from both ends and it has affected her mental wellness and business. “It is with great vulnerability I admit I was involved in a toxic relationship. This relationship started verbally and emotionally harmful and matters quickly escalated to it being physically harmful,” she wrote in the open letter. “I, unlike others, take full accountability for my involvement in the toxic dynamic. One can only be quiet for so long after tolerating gaslighting, aggression, emotional abuse, manipulation, obsessive behaviour and control tactics employed by an individual. Tactics used to distort my perception of love which led me down a path of pain and torment. The scars of this experience run deep and the trauma continues to echo in my personal life and my business." Mihlali said she will be seeking the necessary support and resources.

FIGHTS

This Women’s Month, Mihlali shared images of scars and bruises on her face captioned, “Thank you my angel Leeroy.” Leeroy later released a statement refuting claims that he is responsible for the scars on her face. "On 4 August 2024, Mihlali Ndamase attempted to contact me by placing a total of 78 calls, which I did not attend to as I had fallen asleep. Mihlali then arrived at my residence and persistently requested that my son open for her so she could see me," Leeroy, said in a statement last week, that she attempted to stab him and got hurt in the process.
