MO FLAVA is said to be upset about the new changes

Metro FM Breakfast show host Mo Flava is said to be a subject of gossip at the station after he was allegedly unceremoniously demoted from his Monday to Friday breakfast slot. ZiMoja has learned that Mo Flava, whose real name is Moeti Tsiki, will be doing the Top 40 chart show on Saturdays from April 1st. ?

According to highly placed sources at the station, the management told the DJ that they made this decision based on the show's performance. "I doubt the show isn't doing well, the decision is more personal than professional,' the source said. The source added that some of the people who work with Mo find him arrogant, but he is far from there. "He is confident because he knows his job,' says the source. Another source added that the decision has shocked the talented DJ to the core. "He did not see it coming. He is the subject of gossip at SABC as this is a big demotion,' said one source. The 39-year-old DJ is said to be unhappy about the decision. Apparently, Mo will be replaced by DJ Sabby. Mo Flava says he will be pursuing other interests. "The time has come for me to move on and explore other opportunities. I have spent eight amazing years at METRO FM and I appreciate the opportunity I was given to do top-level radio and touch lives. The METRO FM listeners have a special place in my heart," he says. "I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities i have lined up in radio where I will continue to express my talent. I am also excited about TV opportunities in the horizon. I'll also continue to help young people who want to get into radio broadcasting through radio demo workshops." Khutso Theledi will continue to hold the fort down as host of the breakfast show until a permanent replacement is confirmed.

Meanwhile, ZiMoja has also learnt that the station approached funny man Skhumba Hlophe but he has declined the offer. Hlophe co-hosted Morning on Kaya 959 with Thomas Msengana Mondays to Fridays from 06h00 to 09h00 until last year.
