MEC Lebogang Maile’s son died from ashma

Gauteng’s MEC for Finance and Economic Development, Lebogang Maile’s son, Pholosho Mokubedi Maile, who passed away on Saturday, died from an asthma attack. Maile is sad to be hurt by his son’s passing but grateful for support from friends and colleagues.

HE WAS VISITING RELATIVES WHEN HE PASSED

According to a source, Pholosho ran out of breath while visiting relatives in Sandton when he passed away. “I am told they were outside when he complained about lack of breathing, so basically, he suddenly ran out of breath," the source said. The source said after the attack, the relatives sought help by calling an ambulance, which arrived late. "We hear that the family called the ambulance to get help; he was outside the yard. "Unfortunately, by the time the ambulance arrived to assist him, it was too late because he had been out of breath for a while," said the source. "Maile is very hurt by his son’s sudden death. He loved his son dearly; he was a good young man; he never caused any trouble, he was a pleasant young man who had a bright future ahead,” added the source. A few hours after the passing of his son, Maile shared the sad news on social media: "Pholosho’s untimely death has visited profound pain to our entire family and relatives. The details of the memorial service and funeral will be shared in due course."

SOCCER BOSS LAID HIS MOTHER TO REST

Meanwhile, PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala laid his mother to rest today. Mato’s 93-year-old mother, Eleanor Nomampondo Madlala, passed away over the weekend. Her funeral service was held at Lamontville Methodist Church in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, and she was laid to rest at Lamontville Cemetery. Madlala is the acting CEO of Premier Soccer League, a position he has held since November 2015. Eleanor was the mother of Mato and Mandla "Rocky" Madlala, lawyer, who both steered Lamontville Golden Arrows into top-flight football in the early 2000s. Madlala, who was the team’s general manager, succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 44 in 2007. Both Rocky and Mato were known to spot young, talented players for Abafana Bes’thende. After grooming their young players to stars, the Arrows then sold them to top Gauteng teams like the Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs.
