Malcolm X claims to have been snubbed at Mass Country listening session by AKA's management

Malcolm X says he is hurt he wasn't allowed at AKA's listening session

A week after Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes was laid to rest, philanthropist and socialite Malcom X is crying foul after he was denied an entry at the late AKA's listening session held on Thursday. Malcolm who has been a fan of AKA since his first album, he says he is hurt that his management denied him an opportunity to listen to his favourite rapper's last offering.

DISAPPOINTED BY THE HOSPITALITY

Speaking to ZiMoja, Malcolm says the reception he received at the entrance of the venue where the listening session was held was appalling considering the fact that he was a good friend and one of the people who helped towards his mega successful career.

"AKA and I treated each with respect and love, he has always made sure that I was invited to his events," Malcolm said.

IN GOOD TERMS WITH AKA'S FAMILY

?Malcolm clarifies that AKA's family has nothing to do with him being snubbed by his management adding that they are the ones who made sure that he was present at his events. According to Khanyi Mbau's former manager, this is not the first time he is being snubbed by the slain rapper's management. He told ZiMoja that AKA's entourage has always tried to disregard him and this time they have succeeded. "His management has always been mean toward me, but it became worse after his death, " recalls Malcolm. "He must be turning in his grave for this snub because while still alive, him and I always treated each other with mutual respect,' he says.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

According to Malcolm his beef with AKA's long-time manager and friend Tshiamo  Letshwene dates back when Black Coffee slapped the Fela and Versace star at an event in Polokwane a few years ago following a verbal disagreement. "After that infamous slap I bumped into Tshiamo while I was with black coffee in Sandton and I made sure Black Coffee apologised to AKA, which he did but from that day he has been carrying some type of a grudge against me. I believe that's the reason he hence he made sure my name was removed from the list,'

According to Malcolm, drama started at the memorial service after AKA's mom asked his publicist to put his name on the guest-list for the memorial and funeral services. "But I was kept waiting at the reception for 30 minutes and was told someone from AKA's management removed my name,' He says he had an option to go back home, but stayed there until a family member fetched him and took him inside.

PR STUNT

When called for comment, Letshwene lost his cool. "People tell Malcolm to chill, we are still mourning and his PR stunts are annoying "he said before hanging up.

AKA'S NEW ALBUM

AKA's highly anticipated 14- track album Mass Country dropped on Friday morning. In the album, the late rapper features Emtee, Sjava and Yanga Chief. His girlfriend rapper Nadia Nakai is also featured. Four songs from the album, including Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C, Prada featuring Khuli Chana, Paradise featuring Blxckie and others. In a statement a week before his passing, AKA said one of the songs in the album Paradise was inspired by a Valentine's Day fight with Nadia Nakai. He said it was the genesis of where the track came from, adding that it was about pressing the reset button with your partner, wiping the slate clean and making things right again.
