Makhize to be officially divorced

The ever-dragging Makhize’s divorce will finally be heard on the 26. Durban businessman and the leader of Gap Fixers of SA, Sbu Mpisane, is going to the divorce court on August 26. The Durban High Court granted Mpisane a motion for set-down on June 13 to divorce his controversial businesswoman wife, Shauwn "MaMkhize" Mkhize.

SEVEN YEARS LATER

The reality star, who was convicted by the SA Revenue Service (Sars) of being evading tax, signed the set-down documents on June 14 to confirm attendance of the long-standing matter. When Shauwn filed for divorce in October 2018, the couple was married in community of property. In her divorce papers, Shauwn said she was keeping the couple?s hundreds of millions made from all their businesses and all the properties they owned together.

HIS AND HERS

Mpisane was told to keep the part of their multi million rand La Lucia, Umhlanga property on the east side. While Shauwn kept the west end of the property, which she also used for her TV reality show, KwaMamkhize seasons 1 and 2. After Mpisane returned the filing affidavit where his lawyer Mxolisi Nxasana reminded Shauwn that his client was entitled to 50 percent shares of their wealth since they were married in community of property, Shwaun then blue ticked Nxasana and never communicated with him, a source said. With Nxasana failing to deal with the divorce matter, Mpisane then took it upon himself to approach a Durban High Court Judge in June to seek a date for a set-down, which was granted for August. While Mpisane was waiting from 2018 to hear from Shauwn about his demand to get 50 percent of his share, then started the motion of stripping him off. As time went by, Mpisane found out that he no longer owned anything he bought on his own, with Shauwn being aware of those purchases. A source said a farm that he bought at R12 million - a 600 sq2 size to be used for residential purposes and also a sugar cane farm business, was no longer under his name. The Pieter farm, which is presently valued at R100 million, is also used as a clubhouse for Royal AM Football Club. A source said Mpisane lost the team he owned, Royal Eagles to his estranged wife.

The matter was handled by the Premier Soccer League, and despite the team being under a Trust fund where Mpisane, Shauwn and their close friend were the directors. The team is now under a new Trust fund which is under the relatives of Shauwn. During the South African Revenue Service (SARS) inquiry held in Umhlanga last month, to look into matters of tax from the estranged couple?s businesses, they also looked into the matter of the farm and many others. A source said Mpisane wants to get a divorce decree from Shauwn so that he can get his fair share from their wealth. The couple own properties in Mtwalume, Zinkwazi, Mayville and 10 properties and sites in and around KwaZulu-Natal. A source said Mpisane said he was surprised to find out that all the properties were changed changed from his name to that of Shauwn.

SHE CHANGED BANKING DETAILS

The source said just to make sure Shauwn stripped off Mpisane any of the money and assets, she changed the banking details from his to her "company at a mine Ulundi. Sbu had a five-year contract at a mine in Ulundi, and she told the mine officials that she will start invoicing and not him. "When the contract ended, Sbu chose not to renew it. So Shauwn couldn?t invoice anymore. She claimed she was into mining, so where have you seen her doing business in any mines,? asked the source. Shauwn also went to buy the status of Bloemfontein Celtic for R50 million, using the family?s funds. "Just to make a statement against Mpisane, Shauwn went to Department of Home Affairs to change her surname from Mpisane back to her maiden name of Mkhize. "She wanted to create a name for her reality show on Showmax, hence it was called KwaMaMkhize. She never even asked him to get a new ID from Home Affairs. That?s how much she disrespected Sbu because they are still legally married," said the source. The source said the SARS inquiry will show that MaMkhize used her relatives and friends to allegedly launder monies through the companies and Trust accounts registered after she served him with divorce papers. During the inquiry, all those company directors and trustees put the blame on MaMkhize, the source alleges. "Her elder sister, Nozipho Ngubo, who was part of the reality show and flaunting her wealth too, told the SARS officials that she had nothing to do with laundering monies and not paying taxes."She made it clear that Shauwn was the mastermind in everything, and had told everyone she would handle the tax matters. "Shauwn was convicted of tax matters way back in 2011, so she thought she would get away with not paying taxes again. Getting rid of Sbu was the biggest mistake she did. Now the chickens have come home to roost" said the source. Mpisane has confirmed that he was asked about many matters concerning their businesses at the inquiry. He said he told the inquiry that a signature he was shown in some one of the trust fund, doesn?t belong to him.
